Hardimon is currently the percussion caption head for Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, a World Class drum corps from Denver, Colorado. The announcement was made April 17, 2013. Along with Denise’s extensive drum corps career, Denise was the Assistant Director, and served on the design team for Emerald Marquis 1990-2001, and Miamisburg High School 2002-2004. Mike Jackson, Winter Guard International (WGI) Hall of Fame member, has been arranging, teaching and designing shows for some of the nation’s most recognized marching percussion programs for nearly two decades. His work with Santa Clara Vanguard earned Championships in 2009, 2011, and 2015. The Hall of Fame is the highest honor to those individuals who make a significant contribution to WGI, and who have in some way influenced the course of our history. The DCI Hall of Fame honors individuals who have left an indelible impression on the drum corps activity. He was inducted into the DCI hall of fame in 2000, inducted into the Santa Clara Vanguard Hall of Fame in 2014, and received the “Life Time Achievement Award” from Sabian Cymbals in 2005. During his tenure there, the Vanguard drum line won an unprecedented five national "high drum" titles (in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979). On January 5, 2021, Mel sadly passed away from complications due to Covid-19.
